High School Cybersecurity Fundamentals
This course will provide an introductory overview of cybersecurity. This is an asynchronous course, designed for those who are beginners in the field of cybersecurity. No prior technical or coding experience is required. Many principles will be covered that are consistent with the CompTIA Security Plus Exam objectives such as the CIA triad, Malware Identification, and basic cyber defense principles. This course utilizes a hands-on approach with relevant activities and exercises.
Meet the instructor
Daron Moore Sr
Daron Moore is a master educator with a prolific career of more than 20 years. He has taught Physics, Robotics, STEM, and Cybersecurity. He founded the cybersecurity program of Portsmouth Public Schools in partnership with Norfolk State University.
He has developed and implemented curricula for numerous cybersecurity courses and training including summer camps,
after school clubs, secondary courses, and trained instructors in Cybersecurity.
He has served as a cybersecurity consultant in multiple arenas including NSA sponsored GenCyber Camps, Norfolk Public Schools, Digital forensics, and the federal Government Sector.
He currently develops cybersecurity curriculum and serves as an instructor for the Department of Homeland Security.
